課程目標及內涵 (Course Objectives and Contents) :
了解動物行為引發之機制；與個體生存及生殖之關係以及行為之演化。
1.引發行為之機制： 行為與遺傳物質之關係；經驗，學習與環境對行為之影響；神經，感覺，運動及內分泌系統，對行為之影響；行為之形成與發展。
2.行為與個體生存及生殖之關係： 動物之週期性行為；方位判定之重要性，方法與機制；各種覓食策略介紹；禦敵行為；性擇 與生殖行為；各種擇配，配對及親子關係模式介紹。
3.社會性行為介紹： 領域行為；動物間之訊息傳遞；game theory 簡介；群居行為；利他行為及可能之演化途徑， 社會性昆蟲之行為及演化；訊息之特性及演化。
Understanding the mechanisms behind animal behavior, its relationship with individual survival and reproduction, and the evolution of behavior:
1. Mechanisms triggering behavior:
- Relationship between behavior and genetic material
- Influence of experience, learning, and environment on behavior
- Impact of nervous, sensory, motor, and endocrine systems on behavior
- Formation and development of behavior
2. Relationship between behavior and individual survival and reproduction:
- Cyclical behaviors in animals
- Importance, methods, and mechanisms of orientation
- Introduction to various feeding strategies
- Defensive behaviors
- Sexual selection and reproductive behaviors
- Introduction to various mating, pairing, and parent-child relationship models
3. Introduction to social behavior:
- Territorial behavior
- Communication between animals
- Introduction to game theory
- Group behavior
- Altruistic behavior and possible evolutionary pathways
- Behavior and evolution of social insects
- Characteristics and evolution of communication signals
