課程目標及內涵 (Course Objectives and Contents) :
本課程介紹生物學給生命科學專業的學生，為進入生命科學領域奠定紮實的基礎。課程目的在使未來專業在分子生物、遺傳工程、生態保育或跨學科之領域的學生，皆能因充分認識地球上的生物多樣性與生態系統而認知生命現象及其豐富。本學期課程藉講演和視聽教材依序介紹生物的起源與演化，認識微生物、植物與動物的多樣性、形態結構和生理功能。使用 Campbell 所著的原文書，讓同學瞭解生物學的專有名詞和熟習英文用語，能夠閱讀與吸收英文撰寫的生物學知識。
This course introduces biology to students majoring in life sciences, providing a solid foundation for entering the field of life sciences. The goal is to ensure that students in future professions such as molecular biology, genetic engineering, ecological conservation, or interdisciplinary fields have a comprehensive understanding of biodiversity and ecosystems on Earth, enabling them to comprehend life phenomena and its richness. Throughout the semester, the course sequentially covers the origin and evolution of life, introducing the diversity, morphological structures, and physiological functions of microorganisms, plants, and animals through lectures and audio-visual materials. Using the original book authored by Campbell, students will understand the specialized terminology in biology and become familiar with English terms, allowing them to read and absorb biology knowledge written in English.
