Ornithology (5415) 114-1 Course announcement 鳥類學 (5415) 114-1 課程公告
As this course is aimed for students who are or will be engaging in ornithological research, or those who are genuinely interested in studying birds, the course content is designed for a small class. As a result, the number of enrolled students will have to be strictly regulated to ensure that the course will proceed smoothly. If you have registered to the course or intend to take part in this course, please pay attention to the following points:
- Your presence in the first class (9/8) is mandatory. 第一堂課務必出席
We need a definitive total number of participating students already in the first week so the necessary adjustments in the following course content can be made.
- For graduate students who have signed up for the course, your enrollment in the course will be annulled should you NOT show up in the first class.
- Students who are interested in taking the course are strongly advised to consult the course instructor (Dr. Bin-Yan Hsu, binyanhsu@thu.edu.tw) well in advance, preferably no later than 9/1.
- To control the number of participating students, the admission to the course will be given in the following order of priority:
a. Graduate students and undergraduate students with the qualification of the pre-Master degree program (五年一貫) who have obtained an oral admission given by the course instructor
b. Undergraduate students who are strongly motivated and determined to do research in ornithology or other fields in wildlife biology, ecology, and evolutionary biology and have consulted the course instructor
c. All other students in the following order (only until the maximum number is reached): Graduate students, undergraduate students with the pre-Master degree program qualification, all other students
- All participating students are expected to complete the reading assignments before the first class.
This course is by no means a “bird watching” course. Please do not have a wrong expectation.
