課程目標及內涵 (Course Objectives and Contents) :
課程目標首先讓同學認識癌症本身在生物學上的本質, 並學習癌症的發生原因及機制, 包括基因本身的影響, 病毒的影響, 細胞蛋白質變異的影響. 並將探討分子層次的轉變如何改變細胞的表現行為進而導致癌症發生, 包括細胞週期(cell cycle), 細胞移行(cell motility)及轉移(metastasis). 本課程也將介紹臨床癌症病理學以及治療的處理方式.本課程涵蓋主題如下:
1. 癌症的本質
2. 腫瘤病毒
3. 細胞致癌基因
4. 生長因子及其受體
5. 細胞質信號電路程序中的癌症特徵
6. 腫瘤抑制基因
7. pRb及對細胞周期的控制
8. p53及細胞凋亡
9. 細胞不老化和腫瘤發生
10. 多步驟腫瘤發生
11. 維持基因組完整性和癌症的發展
12. 異類間互作與血管生成生物學

The course aims to first familiarize students with the biological nature of cancer and understand the causes and mechanisms of cancer development, including the influence of genes, viruses, and variations in cellular proteins. It will explore how molecular changes at the cellular level alter cell behavior, leading to the onset of cancer, including cell cycle regulation, cell motility, and metastasis. The course will also introduce clinical cancer pathology and treatment modalities. The topics covered in this course include:

5.Cytoplasmic signaling circuitry programs many of the traits of cancer
6.Tumor supressor gene

11.Maintenance of genomic integrity and the development of cancer
